Gallery

This gallery features a sampling of photos I took while studying Arabic as a FLAS recipient in the summer of 2016 and conducting fieldwork as a Boren Fellow from 2018-2019. I have been fascinated with the region’s politics and cultures since I was a first-year undergraduate student at the University of North Carolina, but had not had the opportunity to travel there until 2016. The time I have since spent in the region, and in particular, Jordan has left an indelible mark on me and my scholarship. These images capture some of my favorite memories and places through the lens of an iPhone.* I am forever grateful for the opportunities I have had to experience such beautiful places, the things I’ve learned there, and the people I’ve met along the way.
